MPs for hire! £3000-£5000 a day. Grab yours now!
This scandal has already been covered all over the ‘net, so we won’t re-invent the wheel here. Suffice to say that the Times article is well worth a read.
Our old friend Guido has an interesting slant on this, regarding Stephen Byers’ membership of the Privy Council. It is clear that his continued membership of the [...]
Fraud MPs on trial still just don’t get it
As has been widely reported, three MPs went on criminal trial yesterday, after claiming a combined total of £60,000 in fraudulent expenses. While this figure may seem low in comparison to the enormous figures that have been ‘legally’ claimed, the acts by which they received this money warrant being looked at again.
Elliot Morley (Labour, [...]

Nigel Farage rips into EU president Herman Van Rompuy
Whilst it seems the entire media has been debating the Gordon Brown bullygate story, they have missed the real ‘unleashing the forces of hell!’
Nigel Farage tipped us off on Tuesday via twitter that he had a 1 minute speech in the EU “Parliament” and that “Herman van Rompuy won’t know what hit him!”. Watch the [...]

Fancy £100Kpa and a £2m house in Maida Vale? Come on down!
Proof, as if proof were ever needed, that the incompetence of this Government knows no bounds. This article in the Daily Mail yesterday is a shocker…
“A single mother-of-six is getting more than £80,000 a year from the taxpayer to live in a £2million mansion in an exclusive London suburb.
Essma Marjam, 34, is given almost £7,000 [...]

Shahid Malik; more front than Blackpool…
I really don’t know where to start with this one. For those of you who don’t know who Shahid Malik is, he’s been the Labour MP for Dewsbury since 2005. He is also a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Communities and Local Government, having been quietly re-instated by Gordon Brown after [...]
Is this man too stupid to be an MP? (or what!)
I am indebted, again, to Guido Fawkes for this gem. Readers are heartily recommended to go and look at the video of an interview with Jim Devine. It is utterly, utterly staggering. The interviewer is sometimes stuck for words, he is so taken aback…
Wikipedia says of Devine:

William Hague performs well in PMQs
William Hague destroyed Harridan Harperson today in PMQs (link to BBC iPlayer) where she was deputising for the Prime Mentalist. Vince Cable did a fair job as well.
Watching HH was interesting, in a watching-paint-dry kind of way. She was poorly-prepared, wooden, perfunctory and lightweight. I’ve long been frustrated watching the Prime Mentalist blatantly not answering [...]
Gordon Brown just doesn’t get it…
The Grauniad just tweeted this, and intrigued by the tweet, read the article.
Just what, exactly, is this man on?
Apparently: ‘In what aides described as a sign of his commitment to “aspiration”, the prime minister said he wanted every household to have broadband access to the internet.’
I’m at a loss as to how providing “270,000 low [...]
Blair’s millions: is the mystery solved?
Well now, here’s a thing. I always thought the Grauniad was a friend of all things lefty, especially New Labour and “our Tone”, but it appears not always.
At the beginning of December, the Guardian set up a competition which they described as “an experiment in crowd-sourcing“, to find the best explanation for Blair’s complex financial [...]
