Save Our Gordon

I’m not sure that Guido Fawkes knows what he’s started here, but it’s taken on a life of its own!

The basic premise of Guido’s post is amusing enough. As of writing, the LabourList “Save Gordon” campaign/petition has stagnated at a measly 152 respondents, not all of whom are actually supportive, whereas Guido’s “Save Our Gordon” Facebook group has 1255 members and climbing, 99.9% of whom are very anti-Gordon.

It may seem strange for support to come from people whose political views so diametrically oppose Gordon Brown’s, but there are many out there, myself included, who believe that as long as Gordon is “leading” the Labour Party at the time of the next election, Labour will finally be banished to the wilderness for at least a generation. Amen to that: all that needs to happen is that the Tories find a decent Leader and/or some “proper” Tory policies and we can look forward to a strong Parliament and a road to revival for our nation. Sadly, all I see ahead at the moment is a hung Parliament. Mind you, I suspect that UKIP will be holding the balance, so maybe all is not lost there.
